Meet Lance... "I first got involved with the MS 150 in 2001. My wife, Nancy (Noodle), was diagnosed with MS in 1999 so I had a first hand look at what this crazy disease could do to a person. I obviously wanted to do anything possible to help the MS Society raise money so I decided to put a team together for the 150. The only “sucker” I could find to ride was Martin Wilson and the rest of my buddies said I was crazy. So we actually didn’t have enough people to have a “team”. We survived the first ride (barely!) and decided to get more people involved in 2002. I think we raised $500 together. In 2002 we managed to get a few more friends together for the ride and we had a blast. Since we were riding for Nancy we decided to name the team “Team Noodle” (That was her nickname in high school and college). The riders were Martin Wilson, John & Andrea Napier, Mark & Lyle Massey, Steve Webb and myself. Man we were all out of shape and riding mountain bikes! I can’t even remember how much money we raised but I think it was around $5,500. 2003 rolled around quickly and Steve Webb took over as team captain. We added Dave Binnix and Sy Haas to the team. Steve decided to get himself into shape and he and Dave finished so far ahead of the rest of us that it was sad. We raised around $7,200 as a team. 2004 was the year we decide to start our annual golf tournament and auction to raise money for the MS Society. We had about 60 players and raised a total of $7,900 from the tournament and auction. Steve managed to get 5 new riders and Nancy and I volunteered along with Emily Webb. The team ended up raising $12,504 and we were the 7th ranked team! In 2005 the team really ramped up with Steve as captain we had 28 riders. Nancy and I volunteered again with Emily. We followed up from the success we had with the golf tournament and had 124 golfers and raised over $16,000 at the tournament and auction. Team Noodle ended up raising $31,016 and was the 5th ranked team!" Thanks again to all my friends and family that make this golf tournament a great success … We hope to raise over $20,000 in 2006!
